The wall street Journal recently ran an article stating that more purchasing agents are using the web. It is now common practice to perform transactions on line either buying stock or other commodities. W. W. Grainger Inc. are seeing a "Robust" interest in their site. Orders represent just under 10% of total sales but the average order is roughly twice the size of phone orders. They also said that "More than 50% of its internet orders are placed after 5:00 pm and before 8:00 am the next day".
